FOR A WORRY-FREE STAY
Comprehensive insurance for short-term holiday rentals by Gritchen
Important: These insurance policies must be purchased within 48 hours of payment of the deposit.
How to book your holiday rental in Provence
- Complete the online contact form or contact us by phone. At this stage, feel free to let us know your needs for additional services such as housekeeping, babysitting, a private chef, car rental, etc.
- We will send you a rental agreement by email. To confirm the booking, it must be completed, signed, and returned by email within one week. After this period, the reservation will be considered cancelled.
- Once the rental agreement has been countersigned by the property owner, you will pay a deposit of between 30% and 50% of the total rental amount, payable to the property owner by bank transfer.
- The balance of the rental amount (between 50% and 70%) must be paid to the property owner no later than one month before your arrival date.
Mandatory Holiday Liability Insurance
The tenant is required to take out insurance with an insurance company, or to request an extension of their primary home insurance policy, known as a “holiday insurance certificate”, covering the risks of fire, glass breakage and water damage, and more generally all rental risks, including the furniture provided with the rental, as well as liability towards neighbours.
Tenants whose primary home insurance does not cover their holiday accommodation may contact our insurance partner to obtain this coverage.
Because the unexpected can always happen before or during your stay, we now offer you two complementary insurance solutions, specially designed for short-term holiday rentals:
- Cancellation / Trip Interruption Insurance, to protect you if you need to cancel or shorten your stay;
- Holiday Rental Liability Insurance, covering accidental damage you may cause to the rented property during your stay.
These two covers are optional, independent of each other, and can be purchased directly from our partner, Gritchen.

ASSURLODGE provides financial protection if an unforeseen event beyond your control prevents you from going on holiday or forces you to shorten your stay.

Cancellation of your stay
If you have to cancel your stay for one of the reasons covered by the policy, ASSURLODGE will reimburse the cancellation fees charged by the property owner.
In all cases, the amount reimbursed cannot exceed €20,000 per claim, less any applicable excess.
Please note: No excess applies in the event of a medical reason.
Trip interruption
If you are forced to cut your stay short and vacate the property due to a serious illness, accident, death, serious damage to your home, etc., ASSURLODGE reimburses the unused rental services, up to €20,000 per claim, less an excess equivalent to one day’s rental.
Reserved and non-refundable sports activities are also covered, up to €500 per claim.
